New Rules: Handheld Gaming

Joystiq has the beginnings of a great piece on how to make a great handheld, and details how the missteps of both companies have failed to yield a clear victor, and that perhaps they are even selling to two completely different markets. Basically, they go on to say that whoever makes for the best core gaming experience will be the true winner of the first REAL portable war since the days of Game Gear.

This goes back to my thoughts on Nintendo's DS Browser..they should continue to concentrate on innovative and fun games. Sony needs to concentrate on games period, the devices multimedia functions should have always come second. That said, if this post is to be believed, the PSP is indeed selling at a slightly faster rate than it's DS competitor.
